A suspicious e-mail with the subject titled
"Rejected ACH Transaction" is reportedly being sent randomly to financial institutions, individuals and companies. The e-mail appears to be from NACHA - The Electronics Payments Association telling recipients there is a problem with an ACH transaction they have originated. The e-mail includes a link for recipients to click on, which redirects the individual to a fake Web page mimicking the NACHA Web site. The link is suspected to execute a virus with malware, making the user's desktop insecure and vulnerable. A sample of the e-mail is below:
Dear bank account holder,
The ACH transaction, recently initiated from your bank account, was rejected by the Electronic Payments Association.
